HISTORICAL HERITAGE AND MODERN COMFORT IN THE HEART OF MEZAPARKS

Buyers demonstrate growing interest in real estate property in the historical centre of one of Riga neighbourhoods - Mezaparks. However, there are very few free locations left where construction can be started from ‘zero’. At the same time, not all buyers are ready to live in historical buildings without their extensive renewal, but reconstruction and refurbishment of old buildings is extremely complicated because of strict construction regulations including protection of objects of cultural heritage. StockholmasHaus 26 is a rare example of quality restoration of historical buildings represented by a complex of two club-type houses and a commercial object(building) that are situated on the plot of land of over 2,800 sq.m. One of them was granted a co-funding of the Riga City Council in 2021. Solid buildings reflecting the functional style of the 30s of the 20th century blend harmoniously into the historical style of Mezaparks.

HISTORY REVIVED - A STYLISH HOUSE WITH HISTORICAL CHARM

Architectural and design solutions concerning renewal, construction and interior of the project were developed by the "DOM InterjeraStudija" creative workshop jointly with the construction firm ‘Bridis’ that are well-known both in Latvia and abroad and have over 25 years of experience. The brutal design of the Bauhaus style, modern technical solutions and facilities have been carefully thought through to the smallest detail.

We offer apartments with the optimal planning ranging from 36 to 95 sq. m. The interior of the entrances reflects the general architectural style of the house. Travertin, granite and mirrors match the staircase spaces decorated with handmade stained-glass windows and Metlakh floor tiles by the ‘TopCer’ company.

AN IDEAL PLACE FOR RECREATION AND RELAXATION

The residential complex StockholmasHaus26 is located in the very heart of Mezaparks. The first places for recreation and amusement appeared there at the beginning of the 18th century.

At the end of the 19th century the idea of a garden city was popular in Europe when private houses were built along the borders of forest parks close to inland waters. The first project of this kind was implemented in Riga in Mezaparks that was originally called Kaiserwald. In 1901 the Riga fathers allocated 500,000 roubles for construction of the first city highway, a horse-drawn tram line, cycling tracks and riding paths. In 1903 the first horse-car line was opened, and in 1910 - the electric one. Some parts of this infrastructure still serve the residents of the city. Purely German style of architecture and life was not accidental- the neighbourhood had been designed by Baltic Germans for their compatriots-lawyers, architects, doctors, and in the 30s - Latvian upper class representatives.

Today Mezaparks is one of the most prestigious areas in Riga. Its Great Bandstand hosts the Latvian Song and Dance festivals, concerts and multimedial light shows. The Riga Zoo, cafes and restaurants, shops and the post office are situated in the vicinity. The advantages of the location include closeness to the largest city forest garden and the lake as well as availability of convenient transport junctions, and what is most important-absence of any other alternative for a housing construction site in the heart of Mezaparks.
